I'm not miffed by the Money Club taking £98 out of my account!

I always feel sorry for companies that are actually running a decent service but seem to get bad press due to factors in many ways outside of their control.

I recently joined the Money Club and having signed up I went on line to find out more about them.

I read the complaints on various forums and I admit that I nearly cancelled my membership before giving them a chance on the strength of that. However I was interested to see whether these complaints were justified. So during my trial period I called them a number of times, eventually saving just over £120.

However for me I found the main benefit was the time saving. I am self employed and luckily quite busy so being able get my 'personal shopper' to do the price comparison and phoning around saved me hours. When I look at what that has saved me it probably amounts to another £250.

Well done Money Club. But is there a way you could get your tele-sales people to give a short IQ test before signing up a trial member as I am at a loss as to the type of person that gives out their bank details and then just sits there and does nothing! Why would you give out your bank details with no intention of using a service or product!

A small piece of advice, your bank account can not be debited my someone that you have not given that information to and, judging by the number of people that claim they never received a membership pack, there must be a Post Office warehouse somewhere full of undelivered Money Club mail!

It's not so much the benefits of the Club that I have a problem with but the manner in which they abuse access to Bank Accounts via Direct Debits. Joined September 14 and in the first year had a further 6 DD at £98 a time. I didn't pick this up as my wife took seriously ill shortly after joining. On renewal the DD was changed to monthly and a further 6 unauthorised payments taken. The Money Club have failed to respond to phone calls and e mails. I'm not the only person who has suffered like this but to have over £1000 taken from my account in the space of 20 months would suggest that there are some serious issues in relation to how the business is being managed. Do not touch with a barge pole.

I had the same problem, The money club took advantage of having my bank account details by setting up direct debits without informing me. Its a fraud company. please do not connect with it also never ever share your bank details with the money club you will loose a lot of money from your account.
